GRAND NATIONAL JOCKEYS AT GEORGE

Ahead of the Grand National on Saturday 14th, leading British jockeys Bryony Frost and Nico de Boinville will join racing journalist, Alice Fox-Pitt for a panel discussion at George - kicking off with women in the sport. 22 year old Bryony Frost, who predominantly rides for former champion trainer Paul Nicholls, joins us following her first Grade One winner on Black Corton and ahead of the Grand National riding Milansbar.
Nico de Boinville, based at Nicky Henderson's Seven Barrows yard, has an established career as one of the country's top National Hunt jockeys. Since Nico turned professional in 2014, following his first Cheltenham Festival win on Whisper, less than a year later he won the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Coneygree, the first novice to win the race in 41 years. Today, Nico is Henderson's principal jockey and will be riding Gold Present in the Grand National.

Giles Kenningham MBE, who served as Head of Press at 10 Downing Street and spokesman to David Cameron joins us for our Monthly Members' Talk discussing 'Brexit and the state of the Conservative party'. Prior to his appointment at No. 10, he was the Director of Communications for the Conservative Party from February 2013 and is described by spectators as ‘one of the most effective Tory spin doctors’. Today he runs the PR and public affairs agency, Trafalgar Strategy and regularly appears in the British and international media.

KRICKET KITCHEN TAKEOVER
TUESDAY 24TH APRIL | FROM 7PM
We continue to champion emerging, young British chefs at George with a one night only kitchen takeover by Soho's Kricket restaurant. Taking a casual and contemporary approach to Indian food and flavours, Kricket was founded at POP Brixton in 2015 by Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell. The restaurant has been awarded several accolades with chef Will Bowlby nominated for Chef of the Year at the 2016 YBF’s. Kricket Soho, opened in 2017 and won the “Best Newcomer” award at the 2017 Asian Curry Awards against chefs across the country and also received a Bib Gourmand 2018, from The Michelin Guide.
The duo will bring their Asian flair and Indian flavours with a pop-up menu and cocktail pairing available for one night only in the Restaurant at George.

MODERN STANDARD COFFEE POP-UP

George will mark UK Coffee Week, a nationwide celebration of coffee, with a one day pop-up on the Terrace. In partnership with our much-loved coffee supplier, Modern Standard, we will be giving away George takeaway coffee for a donation in aid of Project Waterfall, an initiative dedicated to bringing clean water facilities to coffee growing communities. Make sure you stop by George for a delicious coffee to-go, whilst supporting a fantastic cause.

A reading by Lady Halsam from her book "Boy who Wouldn't" and Balloon artist David Crofts from noon to 3pm.
English philanthropist and poet, Lady Elizabeth Haslam will launch her latest children's book, The Boy Who Wouldn't at George. Inspired by her two grandsons and their friends who are constant sources of joy and entertainment, Lady Haslam will honour us in reading from her book and treat children to signed copy. Lady Haslam founded The Michael Sieff Foundation in 1987, which assists in shaping policy and practice for the well-being of children and young people. The charity was named after her late husband who was a profound believer in ethics and the intrinsic human spirit, his love of people and children knew no bounds.
