As we kick-start the new year in the best possible shape, we are delighted to welcome Jacqueline Hurst, a trailblazing ‘mind’ expert and ground breaking life coach for our Monthly Members' Talk. Jacqueline's worldwide success is based on her unique approach and coaching methods, helping clients with a variety of issues specialising in emotional eating and body image.

Her online school, ‘The Life Class’ is paving the way for a new generation of self-development for both people who wish to become life coaches themselves or, for those of us who want to simply learn how to live more optimally for ourselves. 

Jacqueline will be in conversation with beauty therapist and cosmetologist Charlie McCorry, founder of Perfect 10, a mobile personal styling, grooming and wellness consultancy.  The pair will  be discussing how to stress less, be mindful and the importance of good self-esteem, as well as tips and tricks for maintaining a healthy mental attitude and well-being.

Get enough sleep because…good sleep can improve concentration, productivity and even your immune system. It helps with emotional and mental well-being and is imperative to function at your best and most energetic self.  

Set realistic goals because…perfection does not exist. Taking your goals one at a time is a healthier way to get towards where you want to be in life. A list of 20 things to change is unrealistic. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey.

Take a tech break each day because…. we use our tech all day long and just as it’s imperative to rest your body at night, it is also important to rest your mind from communication overload. Try to take 20 minutes a day with your phone on air plane mode and grab a brain-break.

Join Huw Edwards, a Welsh national treasure, journalist, presenter and newsreader for breakfast at George. Edwards is the BBC News lead presenter for major breaking news in the United Kingdom and presents Britain's most watched news programme, BBC News at Ten. He also presents BBC coverage of state events, international events and the hour-long BBC News at Five on the BBC's rolling news channel BBC News. Huw will be discussing the week's current affairs at this one-off event.  

A limited number of places are available at £40 to include the talk, breakfast, tea, coffee and service charge. All profits from the event will go to the Salvation Army.

As we commence 2018, we are pleased to inform Members of the Club's Monday wine offer.  The complete wine list in the Restaurant at George will be available at 50% of the listed price every Monday evening, with a dinner reservation, throughout the remainder of the month. To take advantage of this offer, the Club’s Sommelier, Giammario Mesina is on hand to assist you with your wine selection.

We are delighted to inform Members of the newly launched sushi and sake menu in the Bar. Available every evening, our sushi chef will prepare classic Japanese dishes including Chicken Yakitori Skewers and Tempura Soft Shell Crab with Nuoc Cham alongside a selection of Nigiri, Maki, Sashimi and Tartare.

Members can take advantage of a pop-up menu of raw foods on offer alongside the classic à la carte menu next week, which is guaranteed to invigorate appetites and will prove that healthy need not mean dull. Dishes will include a Raw Chopped Salad, Tuna Tartare & Seabass Ceviche with Avocado, Lime and Plantain, and a Tomato Gazpacho with Tiger Prawn Tartar. Please contact Reception for the full menu.
